*Old rating from 201. Nett mildes, leicht süßliches Pils. Nicht zu getreidig, nicht zu süß. Erfrischend mit leicht herber Note im Nachgeschmack.

Moortgat’s standard lager (I wouldn’t personally classify this as a classic Pilsener). Typical golden blonde colour with firm snow white head, crisp and clean taste, malty sweetishness and grassy hops, with a finish that is admittedly more hoppy bitter than average. One of the better ’pils’ beers in Belgium but still nothing to get too excited about.

Tap. Clear light golden with big white head. Light malts, slight dry fruitiness and hint of bitter in the finish. Medium dry feel. Drinkable pils. Not too sweet but nice crisp and fresh.

25 cl. draft @ Cafe Belga. Unappealing industrial looling metallic clear golden with a moldy looking white head. Nose is metallic, cheap grains, weak corn,… weak nose. Taste is shap corn / additives, strongly sweet first with cheap grains, syrupy but body remain bit watery and sharply metallic throughout. Lots of bitter metallic grass in the end, hop extracts / pellets,… or finest hops like the description says – dunnot, bitter metallic either way. I cannot call this fizzy pale golden / this is straight up industrial cheap. Usually Duvel is quite excellent for a macro and probably the best macro brewery in the world – this tastes like it comes out of a factory in some third world country to me. Further proof of the terribleness of Belgian "pilsners".
