Timmermans Tradition Faro is a beer made by adding candy sugar and water to lambic to mellow its acidity. In the 19th century, Faro was very popular in the Brussels area. Various folk traditions were associated with it, and this ambrosial drink flowed abundantly, thanks to its relatively neutral but extremely pleasant flavour. Today, Faro Timmermans is still brewed using the methods and recipes of days gone by, and meets with unanimous approval.

Taste-wise… A sweet beer with a base of lambic enhanced with water and candy sugar, to make it just light enough. The sugared notes predominate, imparting a general flavour which does not intensify on the palate but is wonderfully refreshing.

29/VII/17 - 37.5cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ holidays - BB: 9/VI/17 (2017-1151)

Clear orange beer, creamy pretty solid yellowish head, stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: pretty funky, lemony, bit dusty, wood notes, citrus touch, bit peppery. MF: soft carbon ,medium body. Taste: pretty sweet and sugary start, very acidic as well, lemon, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: sugary sweet, no caramel though, mainly some citric acidity next to the obvious sugar overload you get...

Bottle. Pours a clear, sharp, bronze color, with a big, bubbly, grey head that dissipates immediately. The aroma is lemon zest, apples, tangerines, butterscotch, and lots of white sugar. Sweet flavor, with a mild, pleasant, tart finish. Medium body, with a very syrupy and sticky mouthfeel. Fun, easy lambic. Good aromas and very sweet flavor that’s a little much, but not too bad.

Bottle, 375 ml, from Gem Shop, Zagreb. Shared with JFK10000. Pours orange, small, white head. Fruity, apples, some brown sugar, sweet, light sourish. Medium bodied. Not bad, but still bit too sugary for my taste.
