Mama's Little Yella Pils - Our upcoming new canned good is a small-batch version of the beer that made Pilsen, Czechoslovakia famous. Mama's is made with hearty amounts of pale malt, German specialty malts, and a blend of traditional (Saaz) and 21st century Bavarian hops. Our first canned lager, it's also fermented at cool temperatures with a German yeast.
This tasteful reality Czech is the perfect antidote for the watered-down versions of pilsner clogging Americaâ's shelves. And Mama's gentle hopping (about 33 IBUs) and low ABV (just 4.7%) mean we're finally honoring consumer requests for a delicious but less-challenging beer. (Hey, we like a good low-dose session beer, too.) Look for our Gold Metal Winner on US shelves in March.
Sadly, the Feds rejected our Take Two and Call Us in the Morning line on the can.

Van from bryon burger .. Thanks to Sarah’s for sharing with me. Hazed yellow straw coloured pour. Aroma is caramel , light apple, pils malts. Flavour I’d slight metallic, little honey, caramel and metallic hop in the finish. Palate is crisp and dry, some light berry. Firm harsh bitterness.

Poured from a 12 oz can. Aroma has a moderate bready, grainy character. Some light fruit esters. No phenolics or diacetyl. A touch of staleness. Pours a cloudy, pale yellow gold with a thin, white head that recedes somewhat quickly to the edges. Light lacing and faint legs. Flavor has a light sweetness with quite a bit of grain and bread notes. Moderate bitterness without any hop flavor. Some mineral notes to the water. Light fruit esters and no diacetyl or phenolics. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied and crisp with moderate carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an easy drinking, fairly clean pilsner. A bit stale, but a good beer. Nice crispness with some good malt notes.

On tap. Pours a clear light gold with little head. Aromas of apples, cereal, and light dill. I wonder if the glass is clean... Light flavors of apples, toasted malts, and bread. Didn’t get any spice or floral notes - just a fruity slightly sweet lager.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Cloudy pale blond color with medium sized compact head. Light aroma of cereals and straws, fresh. Dry mouthfeel; the malt profile is very simple, with minimal cereals accent, straws, infinitesimal bread; medium-to-low hopping, without noble hop character.
Bland offer.

Not bad but had better for style. Saaz isn’t particularlybevident here but thereis some decent barley. Can after work. Light bitter finish. Golden pour with OK head and lacing.
