Mama's Little Yella Pils - Our upcoming new canned good is a small-batch version of the beer that made Pilsen, Czechoslovakia famous. Mama's is made with hearty amounts of pale malt, German specialty malts, and a blend of traditional (Saaz) and 21st century Bavarian hops. Our first canned lager, it's also fermented at cool temperatures with a German yeast.
This tasteful reality Czech is the perfect antidote for the watered-down versions of pilsner clogging Americaâ's shelves. And Mama's gentle hopping (about 33 IBUs) and low ABV (just 4.7%) mean we're finally honoring consumer requests for a delicious but less-challenging beer. (Hey, we like a good low-dose session beer, too.) Look for our Gold Metal Winner on US shelves in March.
Sadly, the Feds rejected our Take Two and Call Us in the Morning line on the can.

Pours a slightly hazy yellow from a can. Mama sized skunk in a little bitty can. Not good.

Ratebeer Odense Summer Gathering 2015. Hazy golden with a lasting white head. Bready malt aroma with spicy-herbal hops. Sweet malty flavour with herbal hops and a citrus note. Very clean, and quite American, but still definitely a classic pilsner

Can @ Odense Summer Gathering, 2015. Pours cloudy pale yellow with a white head. Grains and grass with a weak whisper of citrus. Decent and pleasant but not a lot of soul. Malty bready.

355ml bottle. Minimally hop-milky, yellow-ish golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Pale malty aroma with protein touch, minimally floral hoppy overtones, hints of hay and orange. Taste is pale malty, floral and minimally grassy hoppy overtones with a cautious orange touch. Above average Pilsener.

Burk från privatimport. Gyllengul, klar, vätska med vitt gräddigt skum. Framträdande bröddoft med en liten klick smör. Krispig med en neutral beska. Len munkänsla och en medellång eftersmak.

Re-rate of new formulation. 5 week old can. A: Pours extremely clear with 1/2" pillowy head that holds for a few minutes. Big bubbles rising. Light lacing. S: Baguette and grass. Tart lemony note. Light but nice scent. T: Very bready and grassy upfront with earthy and lightly lemony hops at the finish. M: Light body with crisp carbonation. Clean, dry and refreshing. O: Not a big change from the original. A little less bread and more citrus. At least just as good and easy to recommend.

Can from Ales By Mail. It pours lightly hazy yellow with medium foamy white head. The nose is soft, sweet pale malt, creamy, white bread, cereal and mild spice. The taste is crisp, bitter-sweet, doughy, grainy, straw and sugary cereal with a dry finish. Medium body and prickly carbonation. Simple, but well executed and refreshing.

Can. Pours a golden straw color and topped with a large white cap. Mild nose... Really mild. Grass, floral, and light malts. Taste amps up the intensity a bit, but still somewhat muted. Hops presence is nice. Slightly herbal to go with the bready malt. Meh
