Mama's Little Yella Pils - Our upcoming new canned good is a small-batch version of the beer that made Pilsen, Czechoslovakia famous. Mama's is made with hearty amounts of pale malt, German specialty malts, and a blend of traditional (Saaz) and 21st century Bavarian hops. Our first canned lager, it's also fermented at cool temperatures with a German yeast.

This tasteful reality Czech is the perfect antidote for the watered-down versions of pilsner clogging Americaâ's shelves. And Mama's gentle hopping (about 33 IBUs) and low ABV (just 4.7%) mean we're finally honoring consumer requests for a delicious but less-challenging beer. (Hey, we like a good low-dose session beer, too.) Look for our Gold Metal Winner on US shelves in March.

Sadly, the Feds rejected our Take Two and Call Us in the Morning line on the can.

Clear yellow, thin head. Bitter, bready aroma. Taste is a little bready as well, along with a touch of slightly sour fruit. It’s okay.

Can. Pours a clean gold with a thin head and aromas of corn and meh. This tastes a lot like most of the macros that come from outside of the U.S. I imagine myself on a beach in some random Latin American country with my toes in the sand asking for \"Otra chela, por favor\" or something along those lines. What I am greeted with, like this, is nothing special... kind of a clean and boring pilsner with a cornish edge to it... I’m not sad that it is boring and tastes oddly of corn even thought it says it isn’t a corn beer... whatever. I’m on vacation. I smile, tip nicely and move on with my day...

355 ml can courtesy of Gunfryd. Unclear yellow/golden body with a rather small white head. Aroma is mostly malt and grain with a hint of grassy hops. Flavor is sweet, quite mild with grain and malt, hint of grass and flowers, moderate bitterness. Medium body and a bit more pronounced bitterness in the aftertaste. Decent pilsner, but not a personal favorite by me.

Can from Appellation Wines Comely Bank. Appearance - golden with a nice fluffy head. A slight haze. Nose - light sweetcorn and lemon. Taste - green beans, more sweetcorn and what seems like a bit of saaz spice. Some herbs or grass on the finish. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - a great example of the style.

355ml can from Vinmonopolet Langnes. Close to clear golden body. A decent white head reduced to a remaining patch layer. Spotty lacing. Smell of peaches and pale malts. Moderate peachy flavours, honeyed fruits, and a backdrop of grainy malts. Mild hopped fruity ending. Soft on the swallow. Just alright (Tromsø 26.08.2016).
