Hidden in the beautiful dark amber color are aromas of vanilla and caramel that compliment perfectly the presence of bourbon. Soft oak flavors transition into a sweet yet slightly dry finish. After aging the ale for four months, the malt and hop complexity of Brrr has melded harmoniously with the bourbon barrels and become a truly one of a kind beer.

Sampled from bottle at THT May. Almost clear reddish amber, white head. Sweet caramel malts. Vanilla, bourbon. Sweet, light bitter. medium body. Low carbonation. Pretty nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Barrel Aged Brrrbon on 18 Dec 2017 at 10:35 - Score: 7. Original review text: 3.6

Bottle shared at THT. Hazy amber brown with a ring off white head. Aroma of bourbon, oak, caramel, vanilla and malt. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate bitter. Above medium bodied with soft carbonation.

2011 vintage I had this one last year and was amazing another year in the cellar didn’t help. Looks like it peaked at 4 years. Pours out a amber topped with a sand head. nose is caramel vanilla light bourbon barrel notes. Taste is starting to feel age a little cardboard but still with the sweet caramel malt and bourbon.

650 ml bottle thanks to Adrien. 2013. Slight oxidation marks on the inside of cap. Deep Amber color, carbonation is ok. Aroma is light oak, mild dark fruits and slight oxidation.
The flavor is faded. Weak bourbon, lots of oak upfront. The base is dark fruits and English malts. Body is fuller with a nice smoker carbonation level. Overall for the age it’s ok.

Keg pour at NH Brewfest. Appearance is light brown, no sparkle, off-white head with decent retention and fair lacing. Aroma is moderately roasted malts. Taste is also moderately sweet roasted maltiness with some alcohol. Palate is light-to-medium with light texture and average to lively carbonation and finish is long, moderately sweet. Overall, I didn’t get the effect of the bourbon barrel aging but this was good nonetheless.
