Imperial oak smoked wheat stout.

Like a sound system that fills the room with audibles swarming in every direction. This massive stout overtakes your senses with aromas & flavor of dark chocolate, caramel, roast, smoke, earth & wood, It's heavy I know, but you have to drop that bass every once in a while if you really wanna get down.

Label Design Notes: Surround's geometric pattern is based on a piece of tape used by an early analog computer that may have been used in multi-track music production during the 1960s. The type is set in Helvetica Neue LT Std so that we can maximize the area used for the pattern on the label without compromising legibility of the mandatory text.

Pour is a motor oil black with a large tan head. Aroma is a slight smoke with a sweet sugary molasses. Flavor is a nice char malt with some bakers chcocolate type sweetness. Finish leaves a nice roasted malt on the tongue. Not much smoke in this beer but it does have a nice dry and bitter roasted malt with no alcohol presence.

Bottle. Black with an inch of brown head that fades to a coat. Aroma of molasses, medium roast, soy sauce, mocha, an odd ripe banana note. Smooth, luscious, lowish carbonation. Very sweet with rather moderate roasted flavours. Maybe there’s a wisp of smoke, but only maybe. Gently dries out toward the end. Lowish bitterness. Alcohol is very well hidden. some singed flavours emerge after a while and the mocha tightens to mainly dark chocolate. Pretty good stout.

Draught @ CBC2015. Pours pretty much pitch black with a creamy mocha head that leaves some sticky lacing and trace on the glass while dissiapting. Smell is malty, roasty and smokey with roasted malts, sweet dark bread, caramel, burnt wood, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, moist soil and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and smokey. Mouthfeel is soft, round, slightly astringent, tiny boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, caramel, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, peat, leather, moist soil and hints of alcohol. Ok impy with a decent smoke element. Good but fails to really take off.
