Imperial oak smoked wheat stout.

Like a sound system that fills the room with audibles swarming in every direction. This massive stout overtakes your senses with aromas & flavor of dark chocolate, caramel, roast, smoke, earth & wood, It's heavy I know, but you have to drop that bass every once in a while if you really wanna get down.

Label Design Notes: Surround's geometric pattern is based on a piece of tape used by an early analog computer that may have been used in multi-track music production during the 1960s. The type is set in Helvetica Neue LT Std so that we can maximize the area used for the pattern on the label without compromising legibility of the mandatory text.

Shared by Mick/Brian at the AQ Event at Qbrick. Stereo pours a beautiful pitch black with a tan head. The aroma is savoury dark chocolate. The taste is bitter, dark chocolate, savoury, a bit smokey. A solid Imperial Stout but at 1000 yen a snifter (1/2 pint or so) was too pricey for me to pull the trigger on - thanks for sharing guys.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours black with a dark tan head. Aroma is smoke, possibly some dark malt coming through. Full bodied. Flavor is smoky dark malt - but nothing like single malt - except intensity. Tastes really good.

Draught at a fucken supermarket. Opaque black liquid with small tan head. Aroma of licorice, smoke, leather, chocolate, biscuit, toast and port wine. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of licorice, chocolate, smoke and toast. Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Pretty nice. Super weird drinking this, for 50 SEK at a bar in a supermarket.

I could really get used to these guys with their high quality beer at a budget price. When I think of a double digit abv, sturdy robust smoked stout, I don’t expect to be able to pay with coins I find under the seat of my car. Pours jet black with a coffee brown foam head. Big roasted malt aroma. Huge smoked malt flavor upnfront, robust, thick body to it. Creamy coffee, and a smokey finish. What a beer here, and for the price, it’s damn near the best in its style.

Bottle from Dranken Geers. Dark brown colour, brown foam. Medium carbonation. Nose of ashes, roasted malts and coffee. Very dry and harsh bitter. Subtle nose of smoke. Ok beer.

Keg at Omnipollos Hatt, Stockholm. Black with rich creamy beige head. Toasty chocolate and coffee aroma with some cherry brandy. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate, caramel, brandy, licorice and pepper, notes of peat. Inky bitter finish. Rich, but somewhat distorted and oily. Functional, but not complex.

Bottle. Pours a deep brown/black with a dense tan head and lovely aromas of chocolate, peat, molasses, anise and a hint of oak(?). Flavor is nice and stouty with a little bit of a molasses edginess. It has an almost tannin like note to it, which pulls up just short of being a liability. Very solid offering.

12oz bottle shared by Patrick. Rich, sweet, lots of depth. The wheat adds a nice touch. Viscous, but there is some bitterness to balance it out, maybe more on a baker’s chocolate level. A little bit of a specialty malt overload, but very well done, in line with a lot of Scandinavian stuff.
