Imperial oak smoked wheat stout.

Like a sound system that fills the room with audibles swarming in every direction. This massive stout overtakes your senses with aromas & flavor of dark chocolate, caramel, roast, smoke, earth & wood, It's heavy I know, but you have to drop that bass every once in a while if you really wanna get down.

Label Design Notes: Surround's geometric pattern is based on a piece of tape used by an early analog computer that may have been used in multi-track music production during the 1960s. The type is set in Helvetica Neue LT Std so that we can maximize the area used for the pattern on the label without compromising legibility of the mandatory text.

Tap at Watering Hole. Deep black pour with a medium-sized latte colored head. Big aromas of dark malt, chocolate and coffee with some smoke and bacon. Taste is similar with a nice creamy mouthfeel. Smooth coffee, coffee and roasted flavors on the palate. Nice bitter finish but not overly so. --- Beer merged from original tick of Stillwater Contemporary Works Surround on 16 Sep 2015 at 22:22 - Score: 7

12oz bottle pours with a viscous looking deep dark body that supports a near tight mocha colored head. Nice looking beer. The aroma offers up chocolate malts, malt balls, some dark roasted malts and a mild molasses sweetened spicy oak. The taste, oh my. This is smooth, supple, rich and deep and wonderful. There’s a lot going on here but it is well integrated. I get molasses sweetened dark roasted malts, chocolate malts, a dash of burnt malts, a little marshmallow and then more chocolate. To midway a faint soft smokiness and a sliver of spicy oak bubble briefly to the surface. Into the finish the roasty to burnt malts grow amid a sea of chocolate goodness. As it warms the spicy oak grows. Terrific experience.

Smoke, toejam, coffee nose. Black thick viscous pour, the kind that just glugs out, thin beige head, nice lacing. Chocolate syrup initially, coffee at midpalate, smoke and charred oak finish. Full body, moderate carbonation. Really nice intensity and transitions.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Dark chocolate, mild smoke and dried fruit aromas. Soft with dark chocolate and soy upfront turning to licorice before the lasting cocoa finish.
