Imperial oak smoked wheat stout.
Like a sound system that fills the room with audibles swarming in every direction. This massive stout overtakes your senses with aromas & flavor of dark chocolate, caramel, roast, smoke, earth & wood, It's heavy I know, but you have to drop that bass every once in a while if you really wanna get down.
Label Design Notes: Surround's geometric pattern is based on a piece of tape used by an early analog computer that may have been used in multi-track music production during the 1960s. The type is set in Helvetica Neue LT Std so that we can maximize the area used for the pattern on the label without compromising legibility of the mandatory text.

Keg at the 4th Copenhagen Beer Celebration, Session 2, 01/05/2015. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is dark fruit, rich roast, spice, chocolate. Taste comprises charr, toffee, chocolate, dark malt, fruit rinds. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok but lacking in depth for the ABV, very subtle on the smoke.

Bottle at Church Key, DC. Almost black in the glass, with a small tan head. Licorice, burnt malts, dark sugar and molasses in the aroma. Some prunes. Itβs full bodied, warming and smooth on the palate, with a nice carbonation. Licorice, molasses, burnt malts and a nice hoppy bitterness in the rather sweet flavor. Lasting sweet finish with molasses, burnt malts, prune notes and some hops. A bit heavy all the way this one. 150620

Pitch black coloured body that shows oil all over, with a thick, luscious, five centimetre tall rich brown head - very nice looking. Aroma of smoke, soy sauce, mushrooms, earth, caramel and bunches of oatmeal. Full-bodied; Rich malty flavours with some earthy notes, caramel, mushrooms and soy sauce noticeable, all with a smoked overtone throughout. Aftertaste shows more of the same with a bit of bacon flavour, more oatmeal and some rye even, alongside chocolate and coffee. Overall, a nice rich beer, full of good flavours, but nothing groundbreaking nor worth searching out. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased yesterday at Whole Foods (Bowery) in New York, New York for US$3,99 on 18-June-2015, sampled a day later in my hotel room on the LES of New York on 19-June-2015.

Tasting at Mattβs
Black color with small brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, spices, and hints of leather (7.5). Good body strength; strong flavor of roasted malts with some coffee, light liquorice; not much of the expected smoke. A bit too roasty/burnt in the final.
Nice beer.

Tap@CBC2015, Blue Session - pours black with a brown head. Aroma and taste comprises roasted malts, a big dark chocolate hit, some treacle, caramel, peaty, light spice, some light smoked notes (which is good for me as not a big smoked fan)
