Typical Flemish red-brown beer with a pleasant balance between complex fruitiness and refreshing acidity. This gem of brewing art owes its recognition as an "acknowledged local product" to the age-old production process.
Beer from high mixed fermentation, carefully matured for 24 months on oak wood. Basic ingredients: barley malt, caramel malt, annual Poperinge hops and pure water. The spontaneous but extremely complex microbiology inside the oak barrels results in an extremely soft, sour beer, ready to be fortified with a young, high-fermented beer.

Bottle shared with Erzengel! A clear dark orange brown beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of tart red fruits, riped fruits, oak. Taste of riped cherries, medium sweet red fruits, some oak, good!

Caña en restaurante Oud Postje, Oostvleteren 09/09/17. (r752) Color ámbar claro con poca espuma. Sabores dulces con toque suaves ácidos y frutos rojos, silvestres, cerezas. Cuerpo ligero a medio algo espumoso. Buena, refrescante.

07/07/2017 @home - (2 to 3 years old) 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte. Red-brown colour, small rim as head. Nose is sour, cherries, wood. Taste is malty, chocolate, sour, cherries, some wood. Damn, Redbrowns are fantastic with some years.
