Almost black beer, a head is big abd beige. Aroma has roastiness, raspberries, some coffee. Taste has quite strong raspberries, roastiness and coffee, also bitterness. Medium bodied. Not balanced, disappointment.

Fruit porter from this Dutch-Finnish gypsy brewer who seems to make a case out of applying uneasily long names to his beers. At GBF. Moussy, pale greyish beige, stable head, very dark chestnut brown robe, almost blackish. Aroma of indeed red raspberries, sweet cherry tomatoes, damp earth, tree leaves, moldy acorn shells, black tea, walnut, black radish. Sour fruit onset, actually more blackberry- than raspberry-flavoured but in any case made tart by berries, dryish, over a rounded, sweetish, nutty and caramelly malt core, fairly full, leading to a drying, tart and very earthy, leafy, rooty finish. Fruit stout and porters can work, but in many cases the fruit is a bit lost in all this dark maltiness; here it is very present, but must have been fermenting all by itself too, leading to very earthy, ’dirty’, fermenting leaf-like flavours. Interesting enough, but not really my personal cup of tea.

At Ghent Beer Festival 2017. Cloudy black with a big, frothy, tan head. Fruity smell. The aroma contains raspberry, chocolate, some roasted malt & coffee. It tastes medium sour, light sweet and light roasted bitter. Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Unusual for the style, but unconvincing.

Thank you for sharing RB Crew! Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ GBF 2017. Black, thick mocha head. Nose is herbal, far too herbal, vegetable chocolate, really not what I hopped for. Taste is weird mix of cheap cookies raspberry jam filling with herbal chocolate base, bitter bark, thin,… Vegetable & herbal chocolate body with the raspberry filling. Quite a mess. Confused as to why I keep seeing beers from this brewery everywhere, is there really a big fanbase?

19/VIII/17 - bottle @ Gents Bierfestival - BB: n/a (2017-1298) Thanks to the Belgian ratebeer crew for sharing today's beers and celebrating my 10K!
Clear brown beer, creamy beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: sweet, caramel, little fruity, some raspberry jam. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty sourish, lots of sour raspberries, bit funky, lactobacillus, soft roast. Aftertaste: fruity, very roasted, bit sourish.

Black with lasting thin head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of fruity and tart raspberry. There’s enough sweet malt to give balance. I don’t detect a chocolate element in the taste.

Draught @ O’Connell’s, Tampere. Aroma is somewhat mild with cocoa. Flavour has cocoa, licorice and tart-ish raspberry juice. The juixe takes over after couple of sips and makes this sour and bitter in a harsh way. Not exactly my thing.

zwart met fijne volle licht bruine kraag. aroma van geroosterde en gebrande mouten, koffie, chocolade, as en fruit. smaken zijn redelijk zuur, as, sigaretten, geroosterd, donker fruit, bessen, fruitzuur, overkill on the berries.
