MBCC 2018. Yellow. Keg. A Theydon Bois whip cracking power rate. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Nice rich dark malts, thin dark malt cream. Mild dark chocolate and plenty more spicy whiskey. Finishes smooth and spicy. Full on but very nice.

650 ml bottle, shared by Werckmeister, thanks!
Black body, with a medium, creamy, coffee-colored head.
Aroma of rum barrel, coffee, vanilla, coconut, liquorice, dark chocolate, some booze.
Tastes similar, with a bit more booze.
Full, creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes medium dry, medium roasty, medium sweet, warm, wooden, with rum, cocoa powder, tobacco, coffee, some dark chocolate, some dark fruits.
Tasty. The rum barrel is quite dominant, but still really diverse and complex. Full bodied and thick, with some booze, but not too much. Great, over the top, barrel aged Imperial Stout.

(On tap @ Mikkeller and Friends, Copenhagen, May 9/17) Black pour with a small pale tan head and no lace. Aroma is fairly sweet caramilk bar with whiskey, vanilla, some dark fruit, milk chocolate, moderate roast, praline. Flavour is semi sweet and not shy on the spirit character, again with chocolate and caramel at the core, moderate roast, heavily whiskey soaked oak, some dried dark fruit like dates, vanilla, pretty spirit loaded but not too cloying. Woody notes and moderate roast plus spirit tones drying the back end. Medium full body with soft carb. Really nice, the barrel character stays in balance despite being fairly assertive, and stays away from bourbon barrel cliches.

Sampled at Ocelot’s 2nd anniversary party. Very surprised and happy to see this as a guest tap. Pours a oily, translucent black with some soapy, tan head. Nose is huge with molasses and toasted marshmellow, booze, raisins. Flavor is boozy, sweeter, licorice, molasses, big toasted marshmellow, chocolate. Finishes a touch hot, but drinkable too.

Riktigt gott.
