Keg at BrewDog Aberdeen. It pours jet black with a small tan head. The aroma is rich, decadent, dark roasted malt, dark chocolate, toffee, toasted coconut, sweet vanilla, baked goods, wood and bourbon. The taste is slick, unctuous, rich roasted malt, dark chocolate torte, boosty alcohol warmth, umami, liquorice, dark choc bounty bar, earthy, charred wood, light spice, hint of green banana and bourbon wood with a slick and warming finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Rich and decadent. Very nice.

Poured from a bottle. Aroma is rich with lots of chocolate, both dark and milk. Some light roast notes. Light whiskey with a bit of coconut and almond. Pours black with a medium sized, thick, mocha head that shows really nice retention as it slowly recedes to film that lingers. Light lacing and moderate legs Flavor is moderately sweet with lots of chocolate. Balanced dark chocolate with some lighter milk chocolate. Light roast notes with a touch of leather. Medium bitterness. Light whiskey and oak notes. Some light almond and faint vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied and creamy medium low carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a very chocolate forward stout with some light whiskey character. I like this beer as it isn’t too sweet and the alcohol is well hidden.
