An amped up version of our Black Perle, it is more of everything: creamier, slightly sweeter, richer and more chocolate-y. It’s a richer beer but we suitably add more Hasbean coffee to compliment the roasted flavours of the darker malts used.

330ml bottle, batch 0312, bought at Hops and Craft in Exeter a few years ago. Shared with Finn and Richard. A two-finger thick, tan head slowly diminishing over a black body. Lacing rings down the glass. Coffee and chocolate nose, inviting. Mixed taste of cocoa, chocolate, and coffee. Prolonged ending. Fine depth. Rounded mouth feel. Well pleased with this one.
