An amped up version of our Black Perle, it is more of everything: creamier, slightly sweeter, richer and more chocolate-y. It’s a richer beer but we suitably add more Hasbean coffee to compliment the roasted flavours of the darker malts used.

Tap @ Brewda. Bruin bier met schuim. Smaak is krachtig en licht zoet met iets van koffie.

Bottle at home in London - think I sourced this one from Beermerchants. Bottled July 2014 - vintage rating! Pours oily black with a dense, creamy mocha topping. Gorgeous aroma, lots of milk chocolate, smooth coffee, some dark fruits. Big sweet flavour, but rounded and smooth, with more gooey chocolate, moderate roasted malts, burnt toffee, raisins, dried cherries, coffee ice cream. Full bodied, creamy and chewy, with fine carbonation. Barely a suggestion of the alcohol in the finish, just a little bit of warmth, with further overarching chocolatey character, more coffee ice cream, a dash of espresso bitterness, scorched earth, more raisins, faint vanilla and toffee. Wow, this is spectacular stuff. The richness of the chocolate is just phenomenal. This is definitely one of the best WB beers I have had. It has aged beautifully.

Black beer, thin brown head. Rich, earthy malt and coffee in the aroma. Flavour has fruit, dark chocolate, malt. It’s rich and creamy in the mouth but has a surprising tangy citrus hit in the aftertaste. Delicious.

Bottle at THT. Almost black with dark brown head. Coffee, light creamy notes, honey, milk chocolate, soft herbs, toast. Basically a lot of sweet coffee. Over medium sweet and under medium roasted bitterness. Over medium bodied with slick feel.
