An amped up version of our Black Perle, it is more of everything: creamier, slightly sweeter, richer and more chocolate-y. It’s a richer beer but we suitably add more Hasbean coffee to compliment the roasted flavours of the darker malts used.

On keg @ Ushers. Appearance - opaque black with a fawn creamy head. Nose - chocolate and big coffee notes. Taste - more of the same. Palate - medium to full bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly balanced finish. Overall - I don’t usually go for coffee stouts, but the chocolate was big enough to deal with it, in this case.

Bottle shared at a tasting. Thanks Raul! Deep brown to black with a small tan head. Big macchiato and cacao nose with some light chili pepper. Taste is moderately sweet with lots of creamy, milky goodness and chocolate. Finish is smooth and has a hint of chili pepper. Very nice. Like a lighter, creamier version of Prairie’s Bomb. --- Beer merged from original tick of Double Perle on 17 Oct 2015 at 21:13 - Score: 8

(bottle, 33cl) Pitch black colour with a big and brown foamy head. Moderately roasted malty aroma with notes of dark chocolate, cocos and espresso, accompanied by hints of dried fruits and leather. Mildly roasty bitter and sweet flavour with a tinge of sourness, medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation. Rich chocolate-laden, mildly roast-malty taste with notes of mocha, liquorice and vanilla; lasting bitter-sweet finish with notes of chocolate a nasty little alcoholic bite. Very good. 14.IX.15

A black beer, a head is medium and light brown. Aroma has roastiness, coffee, some liquirice and salt liquirice. Taste has salt liquirice, coffee, some sweetness of milk chocolate, balanced bitterness. Taste is quite intensive but very easy to drink, anyway. Almost full bodied, pleasant and smooth palate. Strenghtness and easyness. The great beer.
