Bottle - Sour cherry, chocolate and rich roast malts. Jet maroon with a thin beige head. Soured roasted malts, vinous and a long tart cherry notes. Rich flavours, bourbon is light and sourness is awesome. Hard to believe there is an oatmeal stout in there.

Bottle shared by Beerandblues2, 7/12/14. Pours a dark brown color with a thin ring of head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts, booze, wood, fruity finish. The taste is tart fruits, brett, bourbon, roasted malts, chocolate, lemon, booze. Medium bodied, low carbonation. Nice beer!

Bottle at PIB, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out tart dark fruits, wild yeast, and some faint roast. Flavour is very complex, with loads of wild yeast upfront, followed by dark fruits, some light tartness, and red wine. Remarkable complexity here, with the wine barrels and yeast executed to perfection. Wonderful stuff.

Pitch black, no head. Smells like chocolate, red wine and funk. Decent body, but think. sour full on freaking sour. tart wine barrel and grape with lacto. chocolate and booze finish but tastes like an infected stout. actually it could be good like tart of darkness but honestly, not great.

One of the better de Molens I’ve had. The wine really comes together in an interesting way with the imperial stout elements. Pours black with ok head and lacing. Kind of hearty, and interesting to be sure. Has roast and grape. The oats are noticeable as well. Bottle thanks to BeerandBlues2.

Bottle at Culmination Fest: Dark brown with red edges, head was bubbles if any. Aroma was strong funky fruit, alcohol bourbon, and winey. Taste was very complex with mellow tart fruit, winey woods, and bitter finish.
