Color is deep golden, head is thick and frothy. Aroma is spicey orange marmalade. Sweet, spicy, malty flavour with notes of herbs and licorice. Alcohol bitter finish.

Tap @ Avery taproom. Pours clear and light golden with a small white head. Aroma of sweet fruit, sugar, yeast. taste is peach, melon, yeast, sugar, light spices. Medium body, lively carbonation. Good one. 050411

22 oz. bottle. Pours a light, transparent gold with ample bubbly head that practically covers the glass in lacing. The aroma is wheat, caramel, bread, and honeysuckle. Tastes mostly bitter, and is balanced well with wheat and malts. The mouthfeel is very smooth and creamy, with a little fizz. There is no hint of the high ABV. A very smooth drinking beer, and surprisingly complex.

(Bottled) Poured golded and lightly hazy. Head was medium sized and white. Aroma was of hops, fruitiness and honey. Palate was medium bodied and a little bit dry with medium carbonation. Fruitiness, honey, hops, bitterness, grass and little bit of teabag could be found from the taste. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter.

cloudy orange, large smooth offwhite head. yeasty and slightly fruity aroma. something that might resemble stable or leather, but is a bit sweeter. lots of aroma. flavor is sweet, malty, sawdust, grassy, faint fruitiy sugary flavor, bitterness that is hoppy and sawdusty. this one best before 1-9-2009 acc. to distributor, so it’s rather well cellared. if only avery had printed the production date i’d be wiser as to how old it is. in three words. bitter, grass, sweet...

Deep honey golden color was quite enticing. Rich citrus and honey aroma, with sweet golden malts. Very fruity. Slightly oxidized, I think, but flavors of honey, tingly, piney, citrus hops. Has big sweetness but is well balanced, with alcohol and a bit of tartness. Smooth and full, yet rather crisp. One of the more successful American made Belgian styles I’ve tried lately.

Moderately strong mixture of DMS, babyfood, and peaches on the nose. Cloudy golden, medium head, nice lacing. Baby food and vinous peaches. I thought I tasted chlorophenols, but maybe not. This is the second straight beer I’ve had that fizzles out in the end. I will say that I like this better the more I drink it. Alcohol is concealed but barely noticeable. Avery is not one of my favs and there are a few more on deck Ugh... Maybe I’ll find one I lke. I’ve got the Reverend, Hog Heaven, and Brabant
