The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Whole Foods, P St, DC 22oz ($7): Pours a light copper color with a white head. Aroma is fruity, spicy, and a whole bunch of Belgian yeast (the kind I like). Taste is of spicy, peppery, and quite dry. Taste is a little sweet. Nice hop flavor. There is a booze moment here and there. Good mouthfeel overall. Definitely the kind of Belgian ale that I like.

0.75l bottle @ RBNAG11. Pours a near-clear to light hazy golden body with a thin almost transparent bubbly head. Aroma has Belgian yeast, spices and some fruits. Average carbonation and a light watery to oily mouthfeel. Light fruity, caramel, alcohol with a flowerish and light fruity finish and a light spicy aftertaste. Really good stuff.

Shared bottle at RBNAG 2011. Why are always the best beers served near the end of the tasting? Golden to amber colour, this is a Belgian-style golden strong ale, with lovely spicy and fruity notes in both aroma and flavour. Well balanced and not too sweet. Very good.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget and consumed on September 8. Pours a fizzy golden liquid with a thin white head that disappears rather quickly. Smell is sweet and aromatic with hints of grapefruit and peach. Taste is sweet with a nice dry and rather hoppy finish. There is apricot and peaches mixed with some fresh cilantro. A nice beer that is a bit too sweet to score top points.

Snygg etikett. Jag gillar verkligen det här .
