Cascade? Chinook? Probably chinook, and lots of them in the nose! This massive citric hop aroma, with a touch of piney resin, is the hoppiest nose on a stout I’ve ever encountered. Curiously the hops are much less pronounced in the mouth; smooth and clean with roasted and smoky notes. Just a touch of grassy and piney hops in the flavor. Medium bitter finish. Dark brown color, and khaki head. A curious, unusual and interesting beer.

Milwaukee YEHa!05, brought by DavidP and 1FastSTi. Dark brown body, light brown/tan head. Huge Three Floyds "house" hops aroma- big pines and medicinal notes, with chocolate (overpowered by hops) in the background. Really, a dead-ringer for Alpha Klaus. But the flavor was quite different than the former beer, with licorice, toast, and chocolate leaving a sweet candy-like feel on the palate before, BAM! The huge piney, medicinal hops slam the door on the palate and close out the beer on a bitter note. The fruity aspect, almost reminiscent of cherry cordials or chocolate wafers, is unique. Strange. I can’t really figure it out, but I liked this.
