Can. Clear dark brown with red highlights, spongy tan head, faint coffee aroma, medium carbonation, bitter mocha-cardamom taste with piney flavor, thin body. long burnt malt finish, mocha aftertaste. A nice stout.

Comes across very hoppy for a stout, conjuring up citrus pith and berry in addition to unsweetened chocolate, coffee, and cascara. Finishes with mix of mocha and pine. Not bad.

Can from the 1$ clearance rack. Pour is big and black and the head is thick. Odd mild spicy pine nose? Not sure. First taste is more bitter than expected; not burnt malt bitter, just oddly bitter, I hesitate to say it may be something a little phenolic? Just something a little unnatural. It is quite dry, not getting any cloying effects, thank you. Its not viscous nor mouth coating. After I get over the initial bitterness, its getting more likable in the middle. Advancing toward the finish, this is a decent stout portraying attributes of slightly burnt old damp campfire wood. Not bad overall once you get over that initial odd bitter impact. Decent co2 throughout.

Black pour. Thinnish tan foam. Even lace around the rim. Dry and light. Initial flavor is coffee, notes of black licorice, and walnuts. Walnut palate. Light bodied and easy carbonation

Bomber from timfoolery. Pours very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is treacle and dark malt. Full bodied. Flavor is coffee, treacle, and smooth dark malt. No chocolate. Subtle. Smooth. Finishes quite tasty and almost dry. Excellent stout.

Bottle - thanks to Randy for taking time away from his golf game to find and mail me this. Pours deep reddish black with a medium tan creamy head that dissipates with some lacing. Aroma is coffee and dark roasted malts plus a touch of chocolate. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet and moderately astringent, with some citrus bitterness on the dry finish.

Location: Bottle shared w/ jcos, 10/20/12

Aroma: The nose is somewhat hoppy, with some malts, fruit, coffee, and chocolate
Appearance: This one pours a dark brown color, with a light brown head and mid-heavy lace
Flavor: The taste of this one is light-medium sweet and decently hoppy
Palate: The body of this beer is medium, it is decently drinkable, slightly smooth, and has a medium dry finish
Overall Impression: Very solid, hoppy stout. I liked it. Three Floyds doesn't seem to miss all that often in my opinion, and this one is no exception.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma of grassy hops, dark roasted malt, and some mild dry cocoa powder. Flavour is quite full for being only 6.5%, with dry cocoa powder, some milky qualities, some dry roast, but keeps bringing me back to milk chocolate / caramel qualities, Quite full-bodied for the strength, finishes slighty sweet and milky, with a slight hop kick. Solid stout.
