Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it’s about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Amber with off white head - Fruity hop aroma - Good malt to support a good hop profile with a nice bitterness - Hops goes into the finish with bitterness - This was good

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured once in a pint glass and once in a tulip. There wasn’t any difference.
The appearance was always a nice golden orange to amber color with a one and a half fingered white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. The lacing slid into the beer.
The smell had a nice sweet maltiness running underneath of a nice citrusy/piney hoppiness.
The taste was basically the same that lead to a decent sweet aftertaste and a dry sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat at/about a light to medium in body and holds a decent sessionable aspect about it. The carbonation was slightly smooth as it didn’t really seem to hold its own as far as sharpness for a normal AIPA.
Overall, good AIPA for the most part, but this seems to be just a tad too smooth as I didn’t get the normal pummeling on my tongue from an AIPA. If anything, this is still worthy and maybe I hope to try this fresher some day.

Location: Draft at Jake Melnick's, 5/27/2014

Aroma: The nose is full of hops, mostly floral and citrus, pine, spice, and some malty notes
Appearance: The pour is golden-amber in color with an off-white colored head
Flavor: The flavor is big and hoppy, much like the nose, with a fairly bitter finish to it
Palate: The body is medium, it has a decent mouthfeel, and a fairly dry finish
Overall Impression: This beer gets it's excellent reputation for a reason. This one is really good. I mean I can't name too much not to like here.

16 fl oz (475 ml) can at home, canned on 01/10/2014 (4.5 months old). Unclean amber-copper color with nice light frothy off-white head that lasts thin until the end. Very nice aroma, hoppy and malty at the same time. Light floral, pine, tropical and citrus fruits like grapefruit and orange, and sweet caramel malty scent too. Taste is the same. Some malty sweetness and a lot of hoppy bitterness! Very nice! Medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, long bitter finish. One of my favorite IPAs!
