Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it’s about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Can. Pours a nice dark amber. This is a great example of a beer that lives up to it’s hype. Refreshing pine aroma. Excellent balance of flavor with a hoppy start and finish with a little bread. Doesn’t have the overwhelming bitter finish. Drinks really easy, while full of the flavor and everything I could ever want in an IPA. I would have no problem drinking this all day.

Can (canned 1/16/14) poured into a tulip. Pours a dark amber/ruby brown with two and a half fingers of off-white head. Decent lacing. Aromas of toasty notes, wheat bread, biscuit, citrus. Tasting notes of toasty notes, biscuit/bread, sweet malt, citrus, light pine. Medium body with a mostly dry finish. Nice IPA with some amber/red ale like qualities.

16 oz. can, thanks to treebute. Dark hazy orange pour, with a small, beige head. Big aroma of piney hops, bitter grapefruit, coriander, and whole grains. Big bitterness, with a grainy sweetness, and just a touch of fruity sweetness. Slightly unpleasant, sour aftertaste. Heavy body, very grainy, sticky, and syrupy. This is a good, very hoppy IPA.
