Yes, this is the beer you've heard so much about!

Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley, World Wide Stout is dark, roasty and complex. This Ageable Ale clocks in at 15-20% ABV and has a depth more in line with a fine port than with a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer.

World Wide debuted in the winter of 1999, and the staying power of this brew is undeniable. Like Fort and 120 Minute IPA, World Wide Stout only gets better with age (more on aging beers here). After some time in your beer cellar, the heat of the booze fades into the background and the port notes and roastiness take over.

World Wide goes great with (or as!) dessert. Share one with someone you love.

Admin Note: This entry is for standard World Wide Stout that clocks in at 15% - 20% abv.

Tap at Dogfish Head, Milton. Colour is very dark brown with very small brownish head. Aromas and flavors: Dark chocolate, coffee, some bourbon and roasted malts. Massive. Strong malts. Pretty dry.

Bottle shared at Maakun’s. Dark caramel pour with a thin tan head. Notes of bourbon, burnt caramel, toasted coconut and quite a bit of dried fruit. Medium body and carbonation and a strong alcoholic finish.

Bottle shared by me. Black with small beige head. 2012 vintage. Plums, raisins, figs, burning alcohol, some dark chocolate, dried dates, brown sugar, light spices. Quite sweet with alacolic bitterness. Over medium bodied. Nice beer but too much alcohol.

Pours black from a bottle, nearly no head, what little there is is not long lasting. Aroma of cherry cordial that hasn’t been bitten into yet. Flavor, I’m picking up on apple, notes of bubblegum, molasses, a big mishmash but it’s pretty good. Boozy but not burny. Pretty good beer.
