Bottled@wPBFIII (thanks McTapps). Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is spices, some resin, wood and sweetness. Flavour is Xmas cookies, some wood and mild tartness. A bit raw feeling over this.

33 cl bottle @ wPBF’14, BBE 26.03.2014
Aroma is musty with some coffee, bready notes and vegetables. Also hints of gooseberry bush leaves. Flavour has coffee, tartness and some gooseberry bush leaves. Feels contaminated. A porter? I thought this would be dunkel.

330ml bottle. Cloudy dark brown colour with small, rapidly diminishing, minimalliest lacing, off-white head. Minimally sourish, dark bready aroma with chocolately background. Taste is dry, dark malty, minimally roasty, malt-spicy, minimally salty. Taste is passably wide-ranging but somehow not fully developed and rich because of a lack of body. Nevertheless a promising attempt - the brewery will remain in focus.

(bottle, 33cl) Dark brown colour with a short and tanned, quickly diminishing foamy head. Mildly roasted malty aroma with notes of liquorice, dark chocolate, accompanied by obvious notes of rye, bread crusts, even traces of herbal hops. Mildly sweet and roasty bitter flavour, medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Moderately roasted malty taste with notes of dark chocolate, liquorice and a touch of molasses; sweet and mildly roasty and slightly hop bitter finish with choco notes and liquorice in the aftertaste. 10.X.13

bottle from Bierzwerg. Deep brown, almost black, hazy, mid-sized, fluffy beige head. Smoky-chocolatey nose. Medium-bodied, lots of roasted malts, dark maltas, grains, chocolate and a touch of smoke. A nice, rustic beer with character.

33cl. Dark brown and slightly cloudy in the glass. Smell is roasted-malty. The beer itself starts intense malty, roasted. The typical Pumpernickel-aroma appears and it tastes like a real slice of it. Fantastic. A slightly and very nice porter-typical sour note appears till the end. The rye-malt characteristic harmonises fantastically with the dark bread, bittering hops appear and fit in ideal. The aftertaste is long, intense - dark roasted aroma together with a malty hop-characteristic. Very dark chocolate, espresso. And smooth due to the yeast as well! --> an absolutely great beer for lovers of this style! --> 15/13/15/15
