Poured from 473mL can (bb Mar 12, 2034; thanks Sammy). Near black with medium tan head. Roast malt, oak underlay, smooth and almost slightly subdued, dry-ish cocoa powder underlay. No real faults, but not especially interesting. Decent.

Sample at the Hoppin’ Frog Tasting Room during the "Hoppin' Frog Tasting Room 12th Anniversary" on 06/21/2025. Brown-black pour with a medium thin beige head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Sparse patches of lace. Aroma of bourbon, malt and chocolate. Medium to full body with flavors of oaky bourbon, dark chocolate and roast malt. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Good beer overall.

Bomber. Standard jet black pour, medium brown head. Big, burnt, heavily roasted and charred malts. Aromas of soy, licorice, burnt espresso, earthy barrel, and earthy vanilla. The mouth feel felt thin though, and was not as oily and viscous as expected, and the carb was low. The finish shows alot of whiskey barrel, and sweet, earthy vanilla with subtle pine hops and a boatload of the burnt, charred malts.

Can, best before Jan 15, 2034, drunk 11/10/24. Clear, dark, large, tan head, creamy, well-retained. Gigantic oatmeal character gives nuts and that glue-y character that oats smell like. Some dark fruit (raisins and plums) followed, finally, by a speck of whiskey. Big char and roast with fruity yeast and light mineral. Not boozey. Hops and bourbon with vanilla and strong oat. Nutty, chewy body with good attenuation. Weird that there's considerably more whiskey in flavor than in the nose, but I'm glad it's noticeably oaky and whiskey-like. I appreciate the chewy texture yet good dryness and lack of alcohol. The PNW hopping is funny and a throwback. Well-made, if rather 2010ish. That said, can see how this would be pretty much the creme-de-la-creme back then. Glad we've made some improvements to the BA IS since then, but this is still a fine example.

473ml can. 11.5% version which I guess doesn’t exist?? Aroma of roast malts, chocolatey, oaky, liquorice, molasses. Taste is the same, very rich, chocolately, roast malts, whiskey, oak, liquorice, molasses. Full bodied, boozy, but smooth. Top shelf.
From backlog. Can, from Total Wine, Brentwood, Tn. Straight from The Can. Roasted malts, coffee, Chocolate, whiskey, oak, Smooth.
