Old notes from 2000. Vacation in Cambridge. Bottle, vintage 1999. Ruby indeed. Aroma's of candy sugar, sweetish, fine herbs. Flavour was moderate sweet and fruity. Medium bodied. Long finish. Very flavourful.

Bottled. Dark golden with an off-white head leaving nice lacings. Sweet, caramel aroma with a vinous fruityness. The flavor has lots of sweetness, along with malt and hops. Full-bodied and sweet, with a finsih consisting of both malts and hops. Worked well with semi-soft cheese. (060428)

(Bottle 50 cl) Reddish brown with a warm orangey glow and a huge, deliciously creamy head. Complex, malty beer with the flavours almost queuing up to impress my taste buds. This is almost like a dry Sherry with a nutty character and only a discreet bitterness and a hint of sweetness. Very sophisticated, vinous brew. A real sipping beer. Yummy. 130401

Bottled (BB 07/2005)
Ruby brown (slightly hazy) with a good creamy off-white head. Aroma is a bit dunky with rubber, hops and caramel. Sweetish portwineous palate with Fuggles hops giving bitter flavor. Bittersweet it is - makes this hard to enjoy in full. Caramelly and aromatic hoppy aftertaste.

A brown beer (not ruby) with a fine orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with roasted notes as well as notes of oranges. The flavor is very roasted and with a dry hoppy end.
