Draught @ Café Frape, Maastricht. Pours clear golden with stable white head. Clear aroma of malt and yeast, with mild, hoppy notes. Mild, sweetish flavour of malt and yeast, complemented by some hoppy notes. Estery afteraste. Nothing special but a good thirst quencher on a hot day.

Clear golden, frothy head. Aroma of grains, bread, cardboard. Light body, thin. Sweetesh taste, bready, malty, virtually no bitterness. Not good.

Very pale colour, white foam. Medium carbonation. Very sweet pilsener. Almost no bitterness.

(Draught at De Spuyt, Amsterdam, 1 March 2014) Yellow colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with bread, grainy malt and hints of boiled vegetables. Malty taste with notes of bread, grainy malt, a touch of tropical fruit and hints of vegetables. A slight bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Drinkable, but hardly necessary.

Standard pilsner. Not bad, just very plain and boring. Drink it with food. Made for the masses.

Nice hoppy nose. Clear golden colour, frothy white head stays awhile. Aroma bread, grass, leaves. Taste light sweet and bitter, light to medium body, average carbonation, smooth light bitter finish. Not bad at all but it used to be better; I think I miss the special marly (mergel) quality of the water when this beer was brewed in Valkenburg, those were the days... --- Beer merged from original tick of Pilsener on 31 Dec 2000 at 11:00 - Score: 7.
