Draught @ Herbergbrouwerij De Gouden Leeuw in Vessem. Clear golden color, medium to full sized, lightly soapy, a bit rough white head that lasts for a long time. Smell malts, grains. Taste malts, very grainy, lightly some malty-grainy bitterness. Low body, low to medium carbonation.

Brown 33cl bottle obtained while staying in the town where it is brewed. Best before 2nd March 2011, reviewed during a ’Lager/Pilsner reviewing evening’ 23rd Oct 2010. Poured into a ’Hoegaarden Grand Cru’ stemmed tulip. Typical Euro Pilsner look, golden, clear, bright and clean. Snowy white head on top, which produced some good lacing. Hay, straw aroma, not the best ’non-smelling’ pilsner/lager my nose has tested! Dry, almost hoppy feel to the taste, refreshing and a bit different to most of the major players in Holland (Grolsch, Heineken, Bavaria, etc). I liked it.

Draught at Cafe Gollem, Amsterdam on 18th March 2010. Clear gold with white decaying head. instant nutty kick - peanut - otherwise crisp and dry with grass hop notes. Light and easy to drink. Rated and reviewed as a light Pilsner lager, and not "in comparison" to real ales, etc.
