12 ounce bottle, best by 08/18/11. Pours slightly hazy red-orange color with a dense 2 finger light khaki head with good retention that reduces to a decent sized lacing cap. A bit of fairly thick lacing sticks to the glass as well. Aromas of caramel, molasses, dark fruits, roasted malts, bread, and spices. Decent aromas with decent strength. Taste of huge caramel, molasses, light chocolate, roasted malt, and some spiciness. Decent amount of bitterness is present on the finish and linger with caramel, light chocolate, spices, and roasted flavors. Medium body and medium carbonation; with a nice creamy and smooth mouthfeel, with very nice drinkability. No alcohol in the taste or finish as expected. Very nice balance of all flavors. Overall, an excellent scottish ale that has tons of flavor and balance. My first brew from Odell as well.

Bottle: Pours a copper color, sort of dull, with some amoeba like floaties. Large fluffy beige head. Aroma is dry florals and earthy, bready malt. Tastes sweeter than expected; caramel and light florals. Finishes with a dry, earthy bit. Just the faintest hint of peat. Not bad.

12 oz bottle into English pint. Pours a hazy amber-orange with a large cream-colored head with excellent retention and creamy lace. Smells like a HAMBURGER!!! In all seriousness, it does smell like smoky meat, or BBQ. Roasted nuts, too. Taste is mostly sweet with an unobtrusive tart edge. Tastes biscuity. Highly carbonated with a medium to light body and creamy mouthfeel. Excellent.

355ml bottle. Pours an orange/amber colour with a good head. There is a grassiness and some smoke on the nose. The taste is very creamy with more of the smokiness and green hop flavours. Good creamy beer which refreshes on the end. Very good beer!

Bottle from Corks, Bristol. Copper coloured with a tight, white head and moderate carbonation. Bready malt, fruity aroma with a trace of chocolate.Malty flavour, with a touch of sweetness and a hint of pine in the dry finish. Good.

12oz bottle. Deep amber brown color. Thin, soapy, creamy lacing off-white head. Medium bodied, pretty well done. Well balanced. Slight traces of amber malt, lots of caramel and brown sugar, with a soapy fresh hoppiness that adds a little roughness to the mouthfeel. Malty, easy finish. Pretty nice stuff, truer to style than most.

On Tap at Brewforia in Meridian, ID Hazy light brown with a full dense creamy light tan head. Nitro looking. Malty aroma with a little cider notes. Earthy malt flavor, a little peaty and very soft carbonation. Medium bodied and a little slight sourness at the end. Malty and low IBU as a Scottish ale should be. Not as dark or rish as some of my favorites of the style but I style that I like.
