Released just once a year on our brewery's anniversary, this American wild ale is aged on whole Cabernet Sauvignon Grapes and Black Currants in Cabernet Sauvignon and Bourbon Oak Barrels.

One of our boldest, most dynamic beers, Cuvee de Tetreault expresses powerful vinous forward flavors of black currant, sour cherry, and cabernet fruit supplemented by hints of tobacco, vanilla, and a fleeting, light roast. An underlying tannic structure from the whole cabernet grapes adds complexity and balance to the fruitiness and acidity.

As the beer ages, the fruit character will gracefully evolve, opening up nuances provided by the grist, our native New England mixed culture and the select barrels. Cuvee de Tetreault is a celebratory beer, intended to be shared with friends and loved ones to commemorate life's milestones and achievements. Enjoy now or cellar over many years for further development.

750mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose is quite boozy, cognac, port, red wine and bourbon barrels, with red grapes and some wild yeast. Flavour is much more acidic, with lots of tart cranberries upfront, followed by red grapes, alcohol, and some bourbon barrels. The alcohol is certainly felt, but it's not too insanely hot—but it's still pretty insane. Over the top, ridiculously conceived, but somehow it just works.

Pours a ruddy mahogany from a bottle. Oaky, barrel aroma and flavor, some grapes. Tart. Very good beer.

Jan 2017 bottle. Pours deep mahogany into a tulip. Pink tinged head with little retention crackles and recedes to hug rim. Tart cherry and black currant aromas. Soft with tart cherry and hot oak upfront turning to mild chocolate in the lasting finish.

Tap @ Cloudwater FFB19, Manchester. Deep ruby red pour, some pink foam. Vinegar and blackcurrant jam in the nose, marmalade, sweet but tart and hinting acidity. Tastes tart, acidic and dry, light vinegar, tasty but giving me a slight burn in the throat. Alcohol well hidden, feels fresh, 11% booze is nowhere to be felt. Pretty decent stuff, tasty.
