IPA Brewed with Rye
Serious hop bitterness, along with an unyielding grapefruit bouquet from the Amarillo dry hop, balances the malty richness of four varieties of imported Belgian caramel malts. Pours a spectacular crimson with a creamy tan head. A generous addition of rye malt accentuates a spicy, crisp finish.

It’s red all right--pours a nice amber-red color with a mid-sized creamy head. Strong hop aroma and the flavor is quite bitter, with hops and pine in the forefront. Missing that usual citrus edge that so many IPAs have. A good, different take on the IPA.

(Bottle, Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm) Reddish amber colour with brief, beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with grapefruit, orange peel, resin and a slightly toasty, spicy rye character. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of citrus peel, Seville orange, grapefruit and spicy hints of rye. Fairly bitter finish with slightly resinous hops. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Very fresh and tasty. Nice one.

Bottled@Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Hazy orangeish amber colour with a mediumsized longlasting beige head, that leaves some slight lace. Aroma is fruity and floral hops along with some mild caramel malty and ryebready notes. Flavour is sweet malts along with fruity and floral hops, some mild spices as well grass. Pleasantly balanced brew. The rye becomes more present as the beer warms up a bit.

Bottle from The Bottle Shop, Canterbury. Hazy red orange colour with lasting beige ehad. Piney resiny hop aroma. Very drinkable, very tasty, very well balanced beer. Love the slightly sweet slightly spicy malts. Love the big but balanced PNW hops. Just a tasty well put together beer. yep I like this and would happily drink this again.

0.355l. Dark amber body full of tiny dark sediments and a huge fluffy off-white head painting the glass full of big lacing. Aromas are really nice sweet. Really nice sweet hops - almost bubblegum-sweet, red berries like raspberry and a distinct strong strawberry aroma. Perfect bodied with medium carbonation. Tastes fruity, peachy hops with some pineapple and strawberries. Good and bitter ending. Really nice, quite surprised and really excited!

Bottled 355ml (Beer Hunters)
Deep ruby color, steady off-white head. Ryeish, berryish, hoppy aroma, hints of salty licorice too. Flavor is very grapefruity, some salty and ryeish notes. Long lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Good solid Founders.

(Bottle, 0.355 l, at Pikkulintu) The beer poured deep amber and almost clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had hops, malts and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, hops, bread, molasses and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. A nice beer but nothing really special.

Bottle bought at American craft bottle shop in Boston, Mass last autumn. Ruby red coloured pour with a medium off white head. Aroma of hops and citrus fruit. Tastes hoppy, quite complex, caramel, malty, rye, spicy. A quality beer from an excellent brewery.

Purchased at Breeze Thru in Milwaukee, WI; consumed on a tired Wednesday night. This is fantastic stuff, appearance a nice ruby red / amber mixture with a thin tan head. Aroma mainly consists of hops and a bit of fruit. Taste is great, pretty bitter, nice malt / hop balance with more of a hop profile.
