Sampled as Heiwa Craft Porter Short-lived rusty cream head over near-black beer. Nose of lavender and blueberries, very perfumed, bit liquorice and melanoidin-rich malts. Lavender going into malty sweetness. Again perfumed, quite like some Japanese soft drinks - some spice, plums? Medium bodied, bit slick, but has a rather demure MF. Oh well. Medicinal. Light choc. Not sure.

330 ml bottle from Tokyo Station. Dark dark brown pour, beige to brown foam on the top. Nose has some sansho (I am pretty sure they have used it here, otherwise it would be difficult to get that perfumy character). Herbal and medicinal, light liquorice. Label is saying tea masala, ok, maybe that's the culprit then. Taste has more of this medicinal spiciness, not too much of it but still a lot. I am not the biggest fan - although it's not badly made, just not something I look for in a porter.
