The Bons Vœux is a blond top fermentation beer with refermentation in the bottle.
Since 1970, the brewery has been brewing a special beer to give as a new years present to their best clients. (the name of this beer “Avec les bons Vœux de la brasserie Dupont » means « With the best wishes of the brewery Dupont » ).
Because of the increasing success, they started to commercialise this “cadeau” but kept the name. Although the demands were considerable, only a small quantity was brewed, so they had to make a reservation list, even months before new year.
This Bons Vœux is coppery blond, has very fine hoparomas and tastes bitter, fruity and mild.
Our selection of yeasts, in combination with a longduring riping process, on a “dry hopping” base, are creating a typical and complex aroma and taste.
A real refermentation in the bottle, which will continue for a long time in your cellar, result in a harmonious and well-balanced beer, full of unexpected and complex aromas.

Appearance- orangey golden. Hazy. Plenty of lumps of yeast come out with the pour. One finger pure brilliant white head. Aroma is full- yeasty, candied fruits, lots of spices, banana, bready malt. Taste- starts with sweetness, juicy fruit, especially orange. Raisin, hint of banana, malt backbone, bitterness comes through in a long finish. Sweetness, spice and bitterness all come together very nicely. Quite a full mouthfeel with the perfect amount of carbonation. Really good.

Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy golden body with a thick white head. Lively carbonation. Great lacing. Aroma of sea salt, blue cheese, yeast, underripe banana and lemon rind. Flavour of lemons, grass, spice and a hint of white sugar. Dry finish. Tastes like a cross between a Tripel and a Saison. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Drinks very easily for 9.5% ABV. The flavour lasts long after each sip - delicious.

0.75 l bottle from 2012. Amber, hazy body, with a massive, frothy, white head, that leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma of yeast, ester, banana, sour apple, lemongrass, spices, some creamy vanilla. Taste is dry, bitter and sour, with the same aromas. Mouthfeel is medium to full, creamy, with a lively carbonation and it finishes dry, bitter, sour-fruity, yeasty and alcohol warming. Very good! Complex, heavy, but still quaffable and refreshing. The balance between all those different dry, bitter, sour and sweet notes is pretty good!

17th Jan 2026: 75cl bottle shared with Eric after walking Willow in Bray-Dunes. Excellente. Perhaps not as creamy and vanillery as I recall before. Still a great beer.
6th April 2014: 375ml bottle from Les Crepes de Sophie, Shrewsbury. Is it a tripel, or a strong saison? Who knows. It is a great beer though, a pretty ruddy good beer actually. Beautiful floral aroma with a touch of vanilla icing. The vanilla continues very subtly into the taste with a smooth yeast character and great mouthfeel. Very nice indeed. I can imagine my Mum liking this.

29.03.2014, 0,375l bottle @ home:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly fruity, yeast, hay, light malts, flowers, dough, hints of dried fruits and citrus peel. Taste is kind of floral and boozy, flowers, yeast, hay, alcohol, weeds, dough, citrus peel, light malts, grass. Medium bitterness, kind of a harsh floral mouthfeel. Fair enough.
