Gustavs is a double IPA with a high ABV brewed with large quantities of hops (Citra, Mosaic, Magnum). It is a masterpiece from the winner of Mežpils’ annual home-brewer competition, which was chosen out of 38 entries. Aldaris added to its taste by using more hops and the process of dry hopping to end up with a juicy beer with a tropical fruit aroma.

Picked this bottle up from a Rimi, just outside of Riga. Double IPA by Carlsberg aka Aldaris. Pours nice orange, slight haze there and white foam. Nose is nicely hoppy, fruity hops that are just covering a malty base. Somewhat skunky edge, like wet cardboard has some dry-hopping. Taste sturdy, decent malt syrupy and fruity body that carries good amount of hops on top. Not really balanced but at the same time nicely potent and definitely has DIPA character. Quite decent beer overall, well done for a macro.
