Darn tasty IPA

This IPA gets its light silky texture from rolled oats. The flavor and aroma both express mandarin and citrus all around. Over five pounds of hops per barrel makes this IPA truly Bodhilicious. Gold medal winner in the American Style IPA category at the Great American Beer Festival in 2016!

Pours an amber from a can, hazy from many minute floaties. Pine, resiny aroma and flavor. A little watery. Good beer.

Grapefruit and pine. Good West Coast IPA. Golden pour with good head. Bitter finish. Nice balance. Good body. Tap at Rumours in Astoria - the only bloody place in town open at 9pm.

Fairly cloudy orange and peach cloudy coloured body with a nice two centimetre tall tan and off-white head that fades fairly quickly and leaves just about nothing on top. Aroma of very pungent, dank, resinous and piney hops with a great alpha acid bitterness noticeable from the hops with a smooth grapefruit and citrus fruit note and a good hit of malts right behind. Medium-bodied; Rich grassy and very resinous flavour that really shows the bitterness with a big dose of grapefruit and lemon rind and a good touch of sweetness at the end and an almost perfect balance of malts. Aftertaste is rich, full of hops and bitterness, showing a good sweetness and a touch of flowers and dryness at the end - very nice and well-balanced, but full of flavours. Overall, a very nice IPA with a slight haziness and a good citrus fruit flavour that shows a New England IPA from Washington State can be good and fairly legit to this coast! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Trader Joe's in Bend, Oregon on 29-March-2021 for US$1,84 sampled after exploring the Redwood National Park here in California with my family on 31-March-2021.

Can while playing Chambers bay. Pours a near clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice juicy citrus with a bit of pine and grapefruit adding some bite. Flavor is similar with juicy citrus leading the way supported by light pine, grapefruit and a light smooth sweet grain.

Can (5/15/20) pour in trade with AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! Appearance is opaque dark yellow-light brown with nice, lazy sparkle, finger-width foamy white head with poor retention and nice leggy lacing. Aroma is moderately strong citrus and peach; whiff of herb. Taste is strong citrus, candied apricot, hint of herbs. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, frothy texture, average-to-lively carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, not the most complex thing but good strength to the aroma and taste. A bit overcarbonated.
