Working your tail off in a dead-end job and losing your passion? Put your ‘Out of Office’ mode on and leave your desk, for good. This hoppy and refreshing Session IPA is all about pursuing your dreams, even if it’s just for a moment. After a few of these, you may want to call your boss and tell him/her straight. Would you dare? Flip a coin and let the faith decide.

We upgraded our recipe a bit, since we saw something how we could make this even better! As usual, this lightweight beast is hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo and Columbus hops giving it some tropical fruit, grapefruit and hints of piney notes. This Session IPA has 4,7% ABV and it’s very hoppy, majestic 63 IBU.

This batch is the second edition of our Session IPA and if possible, this is even better than the first one! This second edition is brewed with our own equipment at Teerenpeli Brewery and we got to do this without compromises, so this will be so far the closest one to our flagship product. We are proud of this, as a father is proud of his newborn.

Thanks to Jinroh for bringing to the bottle share! Porued into a taster showing very little filtration, dark honey brown with a finger of sparse white foam. The nose shows a lot of pineapple with some hints of sweet malt. The palate is thick bodied and a lot of juicy pineapple with grapefruit pith. Moderate carbonation but overall, a lot of flavor for a session. Personally, this has probably taken the place as my all time favorite session beer.

Tap@ Kaisla, Helsinki. Dark amber, thick white head, nice lacing. Tropical fruits, like tangerine, pineapples, herbal notes, some malt is found in the aroma. Flavor is not near as fruity, hoppy though. Malty, woody, some orange and grapefruity notes in the finish. Bit watery. Nice hop bite.

Smell of hops. Amber colour, white head. Heavy aroma of hops, also spruce and malt to be noted. Bitter. Lively carbon, rich body. Challenging, aromas hit fast and hard.

Tap at Villi Wäinö. Dark amber color, good cloudy beige head. Piney aroma with hints of "fermenting gas". Light-bodied. Dry piney-flavor with long lingering bitterness. Nice hoppyness although I prefer some fruityness too.

(Keg at Kaski, 20140814) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass, fruitiness and pine. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were pine, fruitiness, fresh grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A good and balanced hoppy pale ale.

From tap at Pikkulintu. Pours nice amber-orange, just like nice clear apple juice. Head is small but leaves a nice lacing on the Nogne O pint glass. Looks like a good summer beer. Beer is a bit cold for me to understand the aroma, so need to wait till it gets warmer. Maybe a bit of melon, fruits with some herbal traits. Some malt character, bread. Taste is nice bitter, but quite lightly so. Bitterness is solid though, these guys did not spare their hops. Interesting, this beer has still some body, although there is not too much alcohol. Bitterness remains long in your mouth, feels pretty good actually. Nice summer brew, quite enjoyable. Sori guys have done a good job, I wonder what their first “Estonia brewed” beers will taste like. This one has clean taste and is definitely well executed, tasty and refreshing if not too complex.

Draught @ Stone’s, Helsinki

Pours orange with a smooth head. Aroma of crisp malts, grassy hops, citrus and pine. Taste is bitter, crisp malty and grassy with some citrusy and piney notes. Finish is crisp, dry and harshly bitter with grassy hoppiness. A bit light bodied and harsh, but better than the first edition.
