An amber, craft beer with generous amounts of hops and alcohol. This copper-gold beer is a real heavyweight and a must for beer lovers. The liberal quantities of malt and bitter hops create a complex, full flavour. It starts as slightly sweet with malty aromas of chocolate, fruit and grain, while the bitter hops stand out nicely in the aftertaste. A feast for the connoisseur!

Bottle 0.33l at Oluthuone Leskinen, Oulu. Colour is murky light brown with thick small white head. Aromas and flavors: Resiny, pine, some fruits, caramel, sweetness, sugar, hops and malts. Pretty interesting hoppy beer but too sweet for me.

Bottle with expiry in Jan 2015. Dark amber colour, cloudy, quickly disappearing head. Aroma is complex, of yeast, toffee, figs, some corn/wort. Breadiness in the aftertaste. Great! However, there’s too much alcohol in taste, especially when the beer warms up a bit. Light bitterness, light sweetness. Medium body, average carbonation. Overall, very good.

Draught at the t’Ij brewpub, Amsterdam. Dark amber, hazy body, with a medium, very creamy, white head, that leaves a full lacing. Aroma is a bit light, with dried fruits, burnt sugar, some citrus. Tastes of dried fruits, caramel, nuts, chocolate, some fruity hop notes like citrus and tangerine. Mouthfeel is medium, oily, with a lively carbonation and it finishes bitter, a bit sweet and with sour dried fruits. Nice. Petty easy to drink despite the high ABV and with nice dried fruit notes. But overall I’ve had much better beers of this style.

Strong ale with thick head, amber colour, misty; fruity and spicy aroma with caramel- and nut-like malts, taste fruity with yeasty spiciness, lots of caramel malts, finishing assertively hoppy with some warming alcohol. Another interesting brew from ’t IJ.

Hazy dark orange. Good off-white head and lacing. Aroma of oranges, biscuit, spices and alcohol. Bitterness in taste and aftertaste, balanced with orange marmelade bitterness. Not quite in harmony

Bottle at Rootz at the Harbour, Scheveningen. Poured a murky reddish amber with a big long lasting frothy white head. The aroma is fruity hop, malt. The flavour is strong bitter with a chewy grain, light chocolate, big Columbus hop bitter, light floral palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. A beer that even Luis Suarez could get his teeth into!
