Pours black with a quickly fading head.Nose shows chocolate, soy sauce, roasted malt. Somehow both sweet and salty smelling...More complexity shown in the flavours. Big cocoa and chocolate liqueur but also a bold roasted character with plastic notes.Body seems a little watery.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe in Davis, CA. Pours very dark brown with a foamy tan head. Aroma is mostly cacao - with a hint of dark roast malt. Near med body. Flavor is very slightly sour chocolate. Probably from the near burnt malt. Nails the style. Dry finish.

Bottle. Mahogony beer with a cream colored head. Toffee and malt aroma. Caramel and light citrus flavor with light floral notes and light chocolate. Medium bodied. Caramel and light citrus lingers with light spice.

Bottle. Small tan head that is quick to fade over a near black body. Aroma of coffee, leather, light wooden and must notes. Taste is dry, cocoa, smoke, coffee grounds and leather. A little bit sourish. Dry mouthfeel. Better than their Vienna.

Light bodied, sweet mochachino nose. Mouth is a bit too sweet for my liking, but still a decent beer, especially for coffee lovers.

Bottled at RBJG park session. Almost black, fairly rich head. Licorice aroma with lots of coffee underneath. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Caramel lures underneath all the coffee. Medium bitterness.

Black with a medium off-white head. Aroma: Roasted, smoky, creamy relatively rich and dry. Flavor: rich black malt but not burnt. Not excessively bitter. Creamy and smooth. Slightly smoky. A touch of sweetness in the mouth. A touch of tangy sourness. Dry, roasted finish. Still a bit creamy. Lasts quite a while. A decent Schwarz.

Deep brown with a rocky, beige head. Roasted malts, light smoke, earth, caramel. Medium, soft body. Light roasted malts, smoky, molasses, herbal notes, and a touch of vanilla. A real nice schwarz; I wish it wasn’t the hardest of the Coedo line to find.

Medium beige head does not last. Black body goes dark red-brown at edges. Delicate burnt caramelly aroma, very harmonic. Sweetish burnt caramelly taste with chocolatey notes. Very clear and distinct. Sooty burnt caramel aftertaste lingers for a long time. Very nice. (0.33l bottle from Naito-san.)
