Our West Coast inspired India Pale Ale is rich in flavor and abundant in citrus, pine, and floral aromatics created through a wonderful infusion of Citra hops. Completely refreshing with a medium mouth-feel, crisp bitterness, and nearly balanced malt. Finishes dry with a head that creates excellent lacing. Beautifully Nebraskan.

From a typically colourful American ’craft beer can’ depicting an elephant, presumably an allusion to the ’India’ part in IPA (do breweries still do that?). Thick, regulary structured, dense and moussy, pale greyish white head staying closed all of the time; colour is a deep reddish, pure amber, darker than expected, clear with lively fizz. Interesting aroma, dank and hoppy as usual for the style, but a bit ’earthy’, with notes of dried grapefruit peel, hemp, moist hay, raw almond without the sweetness, field flowers, toast, faint mango flesh, lots of wet pine needles and spruce, green peppercorns, something iron-like but in a natural way, green tea, raw ’champignons de Paris’, moss bursting with rainwater. Restrained, clean fruitiness in the onset, more from malts than from fermentation, vague mango and soft bell pepper accents, minerals, soft carbo, smooth and slick mouthfeel, salty touch from beginning to end but not too bothersome, toasted ’bittersweetness’ but lightly so, long and (retronasally) aromatic hop bitterness in the end, spreading over the root of the tongue and throughout the mouth cavity, resiny, deeply bittering, very piney and a tad tonic-water like with grapefruit touches, lasting for a long time but still leaving room for a balancing exercise with sweetish, juicy, toasted and caramelly malts, though the salty accent keeps lingering the longest and eventually even bothers me a bit. Solid IPA with a beautiful deep ’autumn’ colour - just fit for a rainy night, especially with its evocative ’wet pine forest’ aroma, just a tad too salty for my palate.

A dark orange, a head is quite small and blond. Aroma has tropical fruits, pineapples, pine, only hint of fructose. Good aroma. Taste has pine, quite dry, only some fruitness, also some wood. The end is long and strongly piney. Medium bodied, balanced carbonation. Good bodied and nicely dry IPA without citrusfruits and with a strong bitterness.

355ml can. Clear, dark amber colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Citrusy and piney, hoppy aroma, notes of grapefruit and orange. Taste is bitter hoppy, piney and citrusy, notes of lemon, caramel malty background; dry, bitter, minimally chalky finish. A nice one.

Clear amber, edging closer to golden. Aroma has some resins, pine needles and oils are coming out also strong. Generously dry-hopped. Taste is also resiny, pretty bitter and dry. Slight fruitiness there but mainly pine character. Is yelling: "I am American!"

Can from Tokyu Foodshow for the train ride home on International IPA day. Nice aromas of grass, citrus, grapefruit pith and pine resin. Taste is more of the same with wonderful malt balance. Great bitter finish with underlying sweetness. Nice full body with a sticky mouthfeel. --- Beer merged from original tick of India Pale Ale (2011- ) on 06 Aug 2015 at 19:11 - Score: 7
