Via Handpump. Cross Keys, Handsworth, Centre of the Universe. 4.5%. In the Snug, in front of a raging hot solid fuel stove, with the dog for company. All of which makes a dire beer that smells of apple juice, a lot more drinkable than it might have been. That jukebox bollocks needs sorting out, mind you. Two pints Tom wouldn’t have put up with that shite...

Cask at the Town Wall Tavern, Coventry on 28th October 2015. Gold with lasting white foam and scant lacing. Grassy, hoppy aroma with fine herbiness. Grassy hop and a little fruitiness in-mouth. Savoury nuttiness, sweet honey touch and citrus continuing into th finish, rounding strong hoppiness. Zingy with light body. Exquisite.

Cask@The Sugarloaf, City, London - golden pour with white head. Aroma and taste is citrus fruity and medium sweet malty, lovely citrus lemon and tangerine notes, grassy and floral, highly quaffable, and in such beautiful condition. Sometimes you just cant beat a great conditioned cask golden ale, this was such an example.

Om tap at the Haymarket. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - sygar puffs. So malt plus sweetness. Taste - pale malt and honey. Palate - light to medium bodied. Could be cleaner on the finish. Overall - not the worst but doesn’t particularly do anything.

Cask at The Old Black Bull, Preston, which seems only to serve variations on blonde beer based on this evening’s evidence! This was a good example of the style though, golden yellow, thick white head. Lots of character from the citrus and spice hops and bread and hay from the malts. Cleansing finish. Nice.

Small creamy offwhite head. Golden body. Floral grassy fruity aroma with wooden earthy notes. Dry-sweet strawy floral gooseberry taste with fruity notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish floral fruity aftertaste with earthy wooden peas notes. Finish is strawy dusty. Really good. Full of flavour and character, yet fresh and drinkable. (0.568l cask at The Bay Horse, York.)

Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Lightlt hazy golden. Slight citrus aroma. Dryish, with light body - bordering to watery and rounded mouthfeel. Grainy with some citrus. Mid bitter finish with slight notes of yeast. Drinkable but not really all that enjoyable.
