An oxymoronic 'Imperial Mild' - A redux to remember the '05 St. Paddy's Day Massacre. Defiant as to style ... The brewer can say for sure it is unforgiven and unrepentant.

Bottle. Pours clear copper-red with large foamy off-white head, faint caramel aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter slightly salty caramel taste with a bit of an alcohol burn at the end, thin body, medium bitter finish with throat burning alcohol effect at the end. A bit caustic but nice.

I know the story of the Massacre and this is a fine tribute to a peculiar situation. I bought this is in a sixer and I will enjoy the remaining five. Lifted to a bar beer mug it has a dark copper body and a slim eggshell white head that does lace nicely nonetheless. Not a strong nose, a touch of spruce and some biscuit. The taste is better than that. Hoppy, malty, a hint of sweetness. Strongly bitter all the time. The 9.6% abv is well hidden. This is not Arrogant Bastard good but I find it very fine.

Bottle/Fest. A- Caramel, malty, boring. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Caramel, bitter. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, boring finish. O- I expected an aggressive and bitter beer from Lagunitas. In fact, this didn’t have much flavor at all. Quite a bit of caramel and malts with a touch of bitterness. Otherwise pretty bland.

Pours a rich copper from a bottle, big toffee aroma and flavor, a bit of nondescript fruit. A bit boozy, but not terribly. Pretty good beer.

0.355l bottle brought home from BarleyWine. Lots and lots of a big tall foamy almost fluffy head in this one! Off-white colored and under a cloudy almost copper amber body. It smells really nice. Lots of malty biscuity elements. Sweetish, red berry fruity and it just oozes American style barley wine this. Whom doesn't like that? It's as sweet and near sticky in the taste as the aroma suggested. Sugary, syrupy and definitely boozy! Warming. It has a really soft carbonation level and a good oily texture in the mouth. Bitter nuts combined with sweet biscuits, melon zest, alcohol and red berries I guess sums this one up quite nicely. Nice and classic in the taste, loaded with flavors. A nice sipper. 27.05.2015

Dark golden with a white head - Fruity hop aroma - Malt body to support a hop profile that has fruity flavours and bitterness - The malt and fruityness goes into the finish - This was good

Rien n’est en retenue dans celle-ci mais c’est tout de même très bon. L’alcool est trop présent à mon goût mais l’amertume est parfaite pour le style. C’était très résineux et très peu effervescent.

Draft: Poured a copper with a white colored head. Aroma was metallic and hops. Taste is light hops with a huge malt backbone.
