Black color, compact white head. More caramel than roasted malts, with a hint of winter spices. Very dry.
Rather weird for a Schwarzbier.

Can labeled as "Test Batch" from BCS. Pours a dark brown with a small beige head. Nose has prune and raisin along with some milk chocolate and coffee. Light body with a slight watery mouthfeel. Average carbonation. Quite refreshing. Taste is more of the same. The chocolate really comes out as it warms. Nice smooth finish. On tap at Schooner Exact, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and dry unsweetened cocoa. Flavour is rather unexciting, with red fruits, toasted malt and a touch of unsweetened cocoa. Not really what I'm looking for in a schwarz, but this is still pretty solid. Decent.

Draft - Toasted malts and toffee. Deep brown with a light brown head. Toast and and toffee. Decent, but nothing special.
