Pine and citrus filled nose from the American hops. Malt sweetness in there as well. Drinkable hop juiciness is the key while remaining balanced with ample caramel presence.

It is said that the return of the HopDevil doesn’t mark the end, but rather the beginning. Each year he comes back to the hop harvest, where he thirsts for one thing – that bold hop flavor with notes of citrus and pine. It’s a menacingly delicious IPA brewed with American hops and meticulously crafted. After all, the devil is in the details.

Pours a fairly clear amber color, topped with a relatively small and quickly disappearing white head. Malty aroma, notes of caramel and biscuits. Some resin also in there. Tatse is similar. Malty and caramely at first, a bit biscuity too, followed by a medium hoppy bitterness. Not bad, although a bit too malty balance.

Dark amber color with big head. Aroma is caramel and pine. Taste is more caramel, pine, a bit mango, a bit booze, nice bitterness. Not bad, and not your usual West coast IPA. Not 99th-percentile IPA material I think. Superb drinkability though. EDIT: Doesn’t survive long in the glass, gets quite murky soon.

12 fl oz bottle into schooner glass. Fruity chalky nose. Bronze coloured beer with lasting off-white head. Lightly carbonated. Ohh....this is full of caramel notes mixed in with the hops. Really easy drinking, really well balanced. Great finish. Hides the alcohol well, great beer.

Bottle from Hannaford Supermarket Exeter NH. Aroma is strong resinous, spruce hops with some cereal malts. Appearance is clear golden orange with minimal sparkle, 1 finger width creamy head with minimal retention and moderate lacing. Taste is moderately strong balance of sweet and bitter. Palate is medium bodied creamy texture with lively carbonation across the whole tongue. Finish is mildly bitter. Overall, a meaty IPA above average across the board.

On tap at Burger Bar. Hazy dark amber with a small white head. Nose is barnyard and medium citrus. Light caramel start leading to a medium bitter middle and a long dry finish. Medium thin mouth with soft carbonation. Decent.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 09.02.15. Dark golden. Foamy off-white head. Aroma of American hops, marmelade and bitter.grapefruit. Similar taste, also succade and dried fruits. Well-balanced with sugary sweetness. Bitter aftertaste. Good drinkability.

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours amber, clear, with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel, grass. Well balanced. Not the most exiting IPA, but still good.
