Pine and citrus filled nose from the American hops. Malt sweetness in there as well. Drinkable hop juiciness is the key while remaining balanced with ample caramel presence.

It is said that the return of the HopDevil doesn’t mark the end, but rather the beginning. Each year he comes back to the hop harvest, where he thirsts for one thing – that bold hop flavor with notes of citrus and pine. It’s a menacingly delicious IPA brewed with American hops and meticulously crafted. After all, the devil is in the details.

Bottle in Orange County while on holiday at my daughters: 8th July 2014. Looked good, amber with an orange hue to it’s body the head an orangey beige colour. Hops all the way here, and I liked them. Piney in nature but with a malty undertone ensuring the beer is not too bitter. It was up against Anchor Liberty Ale and Ballast Point Big Eye in my mini-tasting and this beer won hands down in my eyes. Very, very drinkable: in fact I had the whole four pack while staying in Cali (plus plenty of other beers too of course).

Hated this when I was 19/20. Very enjoyable now, as I've matured.

On tap at Grünerløkka brygghus. Clear amber with an off-white head. Malty hop juice aroma with caramel, fruity notes and hints of herbs, citrus and malt. Fairly sweet with the hoppy and fruity notes. Finishes with a balanced bitterness. Decent stuff, but lack of freshness pulls down.

Tap at Brewdog, Sheffield. Clear, copper colour. Film of white head. Toffee. Spice. Light herb. Taste is spicy dry. Sweetness follows. Palate feels a little thin. Tasty, though.
