Tap at Mikkeller Tokyo. Quite full on taste. Feels like a double IPA to me. Aroma is caramel, pine. Taste is good. Kind of like a US DIPA with a British feel. Hoppiness and caramel say US, but low carbonation feels like classic AJB. Lots of caramel, some minerals. Lightly prickly. Pretty good. But was much too expensive. Are their prices creeping up? Bit worrying that it was more expensive because it was 'rare'. Gets very malty at the end. Interesting.

Tap at Mikkeller Tokyo. Clear, deep gold with one-finger head. Light tropical fruit aromas with mango and passion fruit standing out with some grapefruit and pine notes as well. New Zealand hops possibly? Soft to medium carbonation with a medium body. Nice bitter finish. Very well done. --- Beer merged from original tick of Shimotsuki on 27 Nov 2015 at 19:05 - Score: 8.
