This beer is inspired by the Belgian Christmas Beers, known for their thick warming body, light spices and balanced hop profile.
It’s a dark brown, sweet and potent Belgian strong ale. The aroma gives away notes of spices, caramel, roasted malt and nuts. The flavor has some hints of dark dried fruit, brown sugar, and liquorice. It’s sweet with notes of caramel, orange peel and spices and the finish is lightly dry due to the balanced hop profile.

I always drink this one with my friends at our annual Christmas meeting. Damned good beer. As it was last year and the year before that…… [Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Halden, Norway] Jostein 19

Shared bottle at home. Pours hazy dark brown with sense light brown head. Aroma of caramel, hazelnuts, dark dried fruits, overripe fruits, milk coffee, ethanol. Tastes slightly sweet with balancing bitterness. Medium bodied, alcoholic warmth.

Bottle, best before 19-8-2029 i think it is the 2020 batch. 10.9%. no mention of vintage on the bottle label. very dark brown, fluffy brown head. nutty caramelly aroma, not so strong considering the abv. somewhere between barleywine and vienna. after a few more sniffs i get more strong belgian ale, less vienna. faint notes of dried dark fruits. flavor is malty, faint dark dried fruits, spices. decent strong belgian ale, but nothing special. quite balanced though, that's a plus. And for a christmas beer, it is not very spiecd, that's also a plus. reminds me a bit of chimay blue, when aged properly and of a good vintage.

33cl. Smooth mild beginning. Fruity with spices in the back, very soft in body. Smooth and a bit sweetish, tends to be sticky, not too much depth on the tongue.
