Bottle shared. Very hazy amber brown with a light tan head. Aroma of dough, plastercine, caramel, herbal notes, malt, light aniseed and yeast. Flavour is light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. [12-09-2016]

Small to medium, lightly cream-coloured head over ruby-shot amber-brown beer; Rather sweetish nose, maltsyrup. Dark green leaves, sweet dark bread and a hint at smoke. Sweet-bitterish. Indeed exactly as Be Scotch ales usually are. Retronasal fruity esters on dark(er) malts. Faint resin, if not hoppy. Quite well-bodied, viscous-slick, and good carbonation. Fruity aftertaste, dark fruit as sweet dried plums. Quite stereotypical, really.

Bottle @ home. Hazy dark orange to reddish color, full sized off-white to beige head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, sweetish, overripe fruits, caramel, a hint of sugar. Tastes the same: malts, overripe dark fruits, caramel, sweetish and a hint of brown sugar. Medium body and carbonation. Enjoyable.

Deep dark brown colour, small frothy beige head, recedes quickly, light lacing. Aroma sweet malty, roasted, honey, dark fruits, liquorice, coffee, cloves. Taste medium to heavy sweet, light bitter, roasty; oily to creamy texture, full-bodied, soft carbonation. Aftertaste sweetbitter, roasted malts, earthy notes, all in all is the roastiness too dominating, a decent beer though, indeed a kind of Scotch ale as the label says.
