Our Fathom India Pale Lager combines time-honored lagering techniques with the hop profiles of a West Coast IPA recipe. The cold-fermenting lager yeast provides a clean base that allows the citrus and pine aromas from the hops to really shine. The result is a gold medal beer with a refreshing, easy drinking character and just the right amount of depth.

Sampled on draft at Hough’s this beer poured a golden color with a medium sized foamy white head that left great lacing. The aroma was sweetish fruity hops. The flavor was sweetish and tangy with a moderate smooth fruity hop note. Medium length finish. Medium body and pretty smooth. Decent.

On tap at Eagle Triple Tap Clear deep orange light amber. Modest fine off white head Big piney hop aroma and flavors. Pretty hefty malt body for a pale lager even granted a double. IPA territory here. Good

Clear golden coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of grass, light hops, citrus and some cereal malt. Light-bodied; Strong hoppy flavour at first of citrus, lemons, grass, hay and some flowers mixed in very lightly with some sweetness and yeast notes. Aftertaste shows the dry grassiness, some subtle hops and a bit of citrus. Overall, sadly, pretty underwhelming after expecting much more in terms of flavour and complexity, especially. This is very easy to drink and goes down easy and shows restraint and simplicity at somehow (doesn’t taste like it) 7,0% abv, but this doesn’t give much bang for the buck with sheer flavour and length - this would be decent for cutting the grass in the summertime, but there are much better options for that. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Costco in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 31-January-2016 for US$6,89 sampled at home in Washington on 04-April-2016.
